Shorts Factory — last updated 9 September 2026

Who this covers

Shorts Factory is a personal, single-operator command-line tool. It is not a service, has no users other than its author, and has no server. It runs entirely on the operator's own computer.

What it accesses

When you authorize it, the tool requests two Google OAuth scopes:

It does not request, receive, or access your email, contacts, files, or any other Google data, and it cannot access any account other than the one that authorized it.

What it stores, and where

The OAuth refresh token is written to a file on the operator's own computer and is used only to obtain short-lived access tokens for the two scopes above. Video files, scripts, and public performance figures for the operator's own videos are also stored locally.

Nothing is transmitted to the tool's author, to any analytics service, or to any third party. There is no database, no telemetry, and no remote logging.

Sharing

No data obtained through Google APIs is sold, shared, or transferred to anyone. Its use is limited to the operations described above, in accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Revoking access

You can revoke this tool's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Deleting the local token file has the same practical effect.
