Shorts Factory
A personal command-line tool for producing fact-checked YouTube Shorts.
What it does
Shorts Factory is a single-operator tool that runs on its author's own computer. It researches a
topic, verifies every factual claim against primary sources, writes a short script, synthesizes
narration, assembles a video, and uploads it to the operator's own YouTube channel.
Why it needs YouTube access
- Upload — to publish finished videos to the operator's own channel.
- Read-only channel data — to confirm which channel is authorized and read its own
subscription list.
- Analytics (read-only) — to read view counts and retention for those same videos.
It never reads, writes, or accesses any account other than the one that authorizes it.
Every claim carries a source
Videos produced by this tool cite their sources in the description. A claim that cannot be
supported by a primary or established secondary source does not make it into a video.
